Position Summary:
Reporting to the Foreman, the Labourer will work with the team and crew, to perform concrete construction work and assist the Foreman and/or Lead Hand with other duties as required or assigned.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the assigned team/crew to complete tasks and fulfill project requirements
Help motivate the team or crew on the job site to perform work in an efficient manner
Assist in forming and pouring of concrete footings, walls, slabs, floors and stairs (commercial, residential and landscape)
Assemble and disassemble form work and place/tie rebar per drawings and scope
Assist with foundation and anchor bolt layout
Pour and finish concrete as required
Operate equipment if proper training/licensing has been obtained (i.e. skid steer, mini excavator etc.)
Build custom forms when required
Track and report materials/inventory taken from yard
Must be flexible and available to work overtime and Saturdays as required
Pre-trip inspections as required
Own transportation to Calibre yard
Participate in the training of employees
Comply with Calibre Concrete’s H&S Policy & OHSA, PPE requirements
Experience / Knowledge / Education:
High School diploma or GED if applicable; post-secondary education is an asset
Experience in building construction is an asset
Experience operating construction equipment is an asset (i.e. skid steer, mini excavator etc.)
Knowledge of construction materials, methods and equipment is an asset
Experience reading construction drawings is an asset
WHMIS certificate
Working at Heights training certificate
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and safe work practices
Skills and Abilities:
Mathematically inclined
Strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills; listening, oral, written and reading
Good manual dexterity including ability to use small to mid-sized hand tools
Carpentry skills an asset
Problem solving under time pressure

Driving in all weather and traffic conditions
Compensation:
Paid Hourly ($17-$22 per hour)
